Residents of Kosofe in Lagos State have honoured the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, and the Chairman of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King, for their contributions to the community. The residents re-elected Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon and Hon. Femi Saheed as lawmakers in the recently concluded Lagos State House of Assembly election.
The duo of Obasa and Alawuye King had appealed to party members, Governor’s Advisory Council members, and residents of the area to return them for another term during different events in Kosofe. At the Kosofe constituency 1 Lawmaker-elect, Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon Scholarship event, former Commissioner, Local Government Service Commission, Prince Busayo Adebayo, called for massive support for Sanni.

At a one-year stewardship account rendering of Kosofe constituency 2 Lawmaker-elect, Hon. Femi Saheed, the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, commended his brief strides and explained to party leaders, members, and constituents the need to return a performing first-term Lawmaker. He likened first-time elected representatives to a Palm tree growth process, emphasizing that it takes time for constituents to start getting dividends of democracy from their elected lawmakers.

Despite criticism from some political gladiators who questioned Obasa’s involvement in Kosofe politics, the election results have shown that the residents of Kosofe listened to the counsel of the Speaker, Subeb Chairman, and others by re-electing the incumbent lawmakers. The lawmakers are expected to provide quality representation, employment, and empowerment opportunities without discrimination, among others. The residents of Kosofe have shown their appreciation for the good work of the lawmakers and the support of Obasa and Alawuye King.
