A group of Nigerian participants, including council chairmen, councilors, council managers, and journalists, are preparing to embark on a five-day international study tour on effective leadership in Dublin, Ireland. The tour, organized by LGNA International in partnership with Irish Emerald Holding, aims to provide participants with valuable insights into effective leadership strategies.
According to a statement released by LGNA International CEO Tunde Jakande, the participants will depart from Nigeria on Friday, June 16, 2023. The tour itinerary promises a range of enriching activities and experiences.
The first day of the tour, Saturday, June 17, will involve participants arriving at their hotels or lodges, followed by a general meeting where introductions will be made and specific program details will be agreed upon. In the evening, there will be an opportunity for the participants to relax and enjoy drinks and music.
On the second day, Sunday, June 18, the participants will embark on a city tour in an open bus, exploring the vibrant streets of Dublin. They will have the chance to visit notable landmarks and immerse themselves in the local culture. Additionally, there will be a tour of Meath County Council on the third day, Monday, June 19, where the participants will have the opportunity to interact with Councilor Yemi Adenuga.
Wednesday, June 20, will be dedicated to lectures and a social evening, providing participants with valuable insights and networking opportunities. Private visits will also be arranged for the participants to explore specific areas of interest.
The tour will conclude on Wednesday, June 21, with participants departing from Dublin and expected to arrive back in Nigeria on Thursday, June 22. On the final day, the participants will be hosted by the Meath County Council in Drogheda, Ireland, for a tour and reception, allowing them to interact with government officials and observe formal proceedings. Notably, Yemi Adenuga, the first black lady to contest and win an election in Ireland, will be the hostess at Meath council.
Tunde Jakande further announced that LGNA will assist in filing an appeal for anyone who is refused entry, ensuring their participation in the subsequent August batch of the study tour. He also mentioned that Ambassador Ryan has expressed his willingness to host the participants upon their return to Nigeria, providing them with a platform to share their experiences and impressions.
LGNA International has established itself as a reputable organization for hosting international conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposia, offering participants the opportunity to learn from distinguished administrators, academicians, and technocrats from around the world.
