In l recent interview on TungbaFM Lagos’s Weekly Political Magazine Program, Hon Ezekiel Olujobi Fayoyin, a former Ogun State Gubernatorial Aspirant, announced his decision to rejoin the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). Explaining his departure from the party in the past, Fayoyin cited concerns over the individuals who were leading the party at that time.

Fayoyin expressed his readiness to return to NNPP, noting that the party’s National Working Committee (NEC) had established a Caretaker Committee to oversee party affairs at the state level. He revealed that he had received numerous calls from various quarters urging him to come back to the party. When he initially left NNPP, Fayoyin had advised his supporters to remain within the party until he determined his next course of action. Now that the party’s leadership at the state level has undergone a change, he has decided to return.

When asked about his potential candidacy for the 2027 Governorship election, Hon Olujobi stated that it was too early to make a definitive statement. He expressed his intention to collaborate with party members to determine whether or not he would contest for the gubernatorial position.
