Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, took significant steps towards improving the drainage system in the area to enable the free flow of waste water. Accompanied by the Head of Environmental Services, Mrs Abijo Nurat . M., and other officials, Ogunlewe recently inspected the desilted gutters in Anthony Village, Mende Maryland, and other parts of Kosofe.

The inspection was prompted by a meeting with the Kosofe Community Development Committee and Community Development Associations, where the issue of drainage maintenance was raised as a priority. As a result, the Chairman initiated the inspection and desilting process, targeting key areas, including Adebayo Mokuolu Street in Anthony Village.

Upon assuming office two years ago, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe recognized the pressing issue of collapsed drainage systems and deteriorated road sections on Adebayo Mokuolu Street. In response, his administration successfully rehabilitated those areas, easing the problems faced by residents and commuters.

The commitment to infrastructure improvement continues, with information gathered by the Kosofe Post indicating that rehabilitation work is set to commence on other roads in Anthony Village, including Mudi Lane, Alade Lawal Street, and one more road.

The Executive Chairman’s proactive approach to tackling the challenges posed by the drainage system is garnering support from the local community. Residents and stakeholders are expressing their appreciation for the government’s responsiveness to their concerns and the efforts being made to create a cleaner and more efficient living environment.
