The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the appointment of Alhaji Rahman Owokoniran, a prominent figure within the party’s ranks, as the acting National Vice Chairman (South-West) in the wake of former National Vice Chairman Soji Adagunodo’s passing.

The decision to elevate Owokoniran to this significant role comes as no surprise given his distinguished political career, including his tenure as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and his recent position as the Zonal Secretary of the PDP South-West Zone.

The announcement was made following the conclusion of the South West PDP Zonal Executive meeting held in Ibadan last Saturday. This pivotal gathering was attended by party leaders and officials from across the South-West region.

In a communique released after the meeting, Chief Sanya Atofarati, the Southwest PDP Zonal Publicity Secretary, emphasized the temporary nature of Owokoniran’s role, pending the election of a permanent National Vice Chairman in accordance with the provisions of the PDP constitution. Atofarati’s statement underlined the party’s commitment to upholding democratic principles and transparency in its internal processes.

Beyond this internal appointment, the PDP Southwest zone reiterated its strong stance in supporting its candidates who are currently embroiled in legal battles at the Election Petition Tribunals, fighting for their mandates that they believe were unjustly taken from them. The party remains resolute in its pursuit of justice and upholding the integrity of the electoral system.

In a move that showcases the party’s awareness and engagement with national issues, the PDP South-West zone also took the opportunity to criticize the federal government led by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its approach to the removal of fuel subsidy. The party condemned what it deemed a “directionless approach,” emphasizing the lack of concrete plans or measures in place to mitigate the potential adverse effects of this decision on the Nigerian populace.

Congratulations on your new position Sir. I know you’ve worked hard to reach this point, and I’m so happy that you’ve been recognized based on your political managerial skill and commitment to the party. Comrade Daniyan Oluwashola Cares

All Politics is local, Hon Rahman Owokoniran is a political contractor and a leader without a followers.

    Congratulations to him.
    Oloye Salami Oluwaseun

I don’t accept that premise from you because you can’t be a leader when you don’t have followers, Without leaders, there wouldn’t be any followers,
Followership is a practice, as leadership is a practice. Good followership is as necessary to a good outcome, @Oloye Ouwaseun except if you want to be biased in your submission because Hon Owokoniran has more than 85% of PDP loyalist here in kosofe or can any of the 2023 PDP candidates emerged without his financial and grassroot support.

*Finally someone who chased out the man who turn kosofe PDP to a family affairs in kosofe*

You refuse to respond to my question are you still a PDP member and what prompted your exit from the party? Alfa what happened in kosofe happened everywhere because we underated the labour party force forgetting majority of PDP votes are from non indigene here in Lagos,

I said it earlier I might not be on the same page with Hon Owokoniran but I still have to congratulates him because is better to play anti group within your party than to play anti party like what you guys did die-minuete to election just because of peanut and boy-boy politics.
    Comrade Daniyan Oluwashola

    *Adigun Noheem Olufemi*

  3. Is better to do onofun ona orun to someone who appreciates it not to your leader that keeps on collecting money from party members without giving them position, when I said Hon Owokoniran has no kosofe voters card did he denied it then? Check my space I don’t write rubbish and I can never be a praise singer without value, you guys should repent instead of ripping or duping members for political positions, find something else and do with your leader.. if am lying heaven knows I was duped then by your leader…. I remain a PDP member till tomorrow and I will never be a slave but a follower with good impact..

    Comrade Daniyan Oluwashola
