In a resounding testament to his unwavering dedication and exceptional leadership, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the First Citizen of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, has been named the “Outstanding Youth and Influential Personality” in Greater Kosofe Local Government. This prestigious recognition comes as a result of an online voting exercise conducted by the general public.
Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s remarkable achievement will be celebrated at an upcoming ceremony scheduled for today, September 2, 2023, at the illustrious Romney Hall, located on Awolowo Road in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Renowned for his dynamic, savvy, sagacious, visionary, and strategic approach to grassroots administration, Mayor Dele Oshinowo has established himself as a driving force for positive change. Born over four decades ago, his journey in education and public service has been nothing short of remarkable.
His educational path took him from St. Agnes Primary School in Maryland to Maryland Comprehensive High School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. However, his true educational prowess shone during his tertiary studies in the United Kingdom, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Studies and a Master’s Degree in Risk Management from the University of East London.
Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s public service journey began in 2012 when he was appointed as the Secretary to the Local Government for Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, a role he held until 2014. His expertise and commitment to grassroots governance led to his reappointment in the same capacity in a six-man executive committee later that year.
In a remarkable turn of events, Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s dedication to service and his mastery of grassroots governance earned him the position of Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA on July 22, 2017. As the First Citizen, he has spearheaded numerous people-oriented programs that have yielded substantial democratic dividends for the community’s progress and development.
