In a collaborative effort, civic accountability platform Tracka has teamed up with concerned residents of Kosofe to advocate for the prompt supply of N54.6 million worth of hospital equipment earmarked for the controversial 80-bed Primary Health Care Centre in Ojota.

The call was made public through Tracka’s social media platform, where the group expressed its commitment to ensuring the delivery of quality health and social care services to the affected community. In a tweet, Tracka highlighted the allocation of N54.6 million in the 2023 Federal Government Budget for the supply of hospital equipment to the Primary Health Care Centre at Emmanuel High Street, Ojota, within the Kosofe Federal Constituency, Lagos State.

The tweet underscored the urgency of the situation, stating, “N54.6m was allocated… This project has not started.” Tracka’s tracking efforts revealed that the facility, completed in April 2023, has since been abandoned and is now overgrown with weeds, adversely affecting the residents of Ojota who rely on it as their sole Primary Health Care facility.

Tracka, in its call to action, directed attention to the implementing agency, tagging @ossap_sdgs, and urged them to provide the public with project details and expedite the process of equipping the health facility.
