The Kosofe Education Authority, led by Babatunde Shoneye, organized a vibrant get-together ceremony at Oluwalogbon Nursery and Primary School, Ikosi, to honor the retired headteachers and administrators who dedicated years of service to public primary schools in Kosofe Local Government Area.
Families, friends, and well-wishers gathered on December 6 at the event, creating an atmosphere of gratitude and camaraderie. The Education Secretary of Kosofe LGEA, speaking at the ceremony, expressed appreciation for the retirees’ unwavering dedication to their work. He encouraged senior officers to mentor junior colleagues towards achieving excellence in service delivery while emphasizing the importance of prioritizing health.
During the ceremony, the retirees were presented with Certificates of Service and Awards of Excellence, recognizing their outstanding contributions over the years. The retirees, in turn, commended the education authority for the thoughtful celebration and offered words of encouragement to their colleagues still in active service, urging them to uphold hard work.
Invited guests shared valuable insights on navigating post-service life, emphasizing the importance of wise financial decisions. The celebratory atmosphere was heightened by the DJ, who entertained the audience with melodious songs while the senior citizens enjoyed a delightful dining experience.
Babatunde Shoneye, head of the Kosofe Education Authority, revealed to newsmen that the retirees truly deserve this honor after many years of meritorious service. He expressed confidence that such celebrations would motivate and encourage current staff members to be diligent in their duties, fostering a culture of excellence within the education system.
