Prince Debo Adesina, A Security Expert and founder of Nigerian Lives Matter who was a 2023 Former People’s Democratic Party aspirant for Kosofe Constituency 1 House of Assembly in a two-part Exclusive interview with the Kosofe Post shared his views on Kosofe PDP and grassroots Governance in Kosofe Local Government.

Excerpts:

KOSOFE POST: Shortly after the 2023 PDP House of Assembly primary elections, not much was heard from you. Is it true that you left the party because you were dissatisfied with the election outcomes?

Prince Debo Adesina: I did not leave the party because I don’t believe in switching parties. I believe in ideology and have been part of PDP since its inception in 1998. Even if some leaders don’t live up to their roles, it won’t make me exit the party. After the primary election in Kosofe, I chose to continue building on what I had laid and aligned with the Progressive. I remain loyal to my party, not just to leaders.

KP: In the 2023 House of Assembly election, Kosofe Constituency 1, PDP came distanced fourth for the first time in the party’s history. Do you think PDP can still be a beautiful bride against the ruling party in future Kosofe elections?

PDA: Yes, PDP can be a beautiful bride again. We need to put the right people in the right positions. The 2023 election showed a lack of energy in our candidate, and mismanagement of resources by those supporting him. PDP needs to prepare more, run elections with the intent to benefit the people, and not just for personal gain. We have work to do, but the spirit of winning is gradually returning, and I believe PDP will bounce back in Kosofe.
