The Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos State, has confirmed that three police officers, ASP Kenedy Ereoah, Insp. Ademiluyi Adekunle, and Insp. Ayo Gbenga, are facing trial for professional misconduct after demanding a tinted glass permit from motorists.

Zonal Public Relations Officer (ZPRO), SP. Tunni Ayuba, clarified in a statement that the officers, despite their actions, were not kidnappers but members of the Zone 2 Command. The investigation was initiated after a viral video surfaced on social media, showing the officers in question.

Ayuba emphasized that the officers, attached to the Zonal Intelligence Bureau, Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, were on official duty but acted unprofessionally, leading to a violation of the Inspector-General of Police’s directive on tinted glass permits.

“The officers defaulted and are presently being tried for flouting the Inspector-General of Police’s directive on tinted glass permit,” Ayuba stated.

She urged the affected motorist to contact her for further action, emphasizing transparency in addressing the issue.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police has called for calm, assuring residents of Lagos State and Ogun of the safety and security of their lives and property as they go about their lawful businesses.
