Ikeja Electric’s Integrated Management System Recertified

In a testament to its unwavering commitment to excellence in electricity distribution and adherence to international industry standards, Ikeja Electric’s Integrated Management System (IMS) has been recertified following a rigorous evaluation of its policies, processes, and procedures.

The announcement was made through a press statement issued by Kingsley Okotie, Head of Corporate Communications at Ikeja Electric Plc, on February 5, 2024, in Lagos, Nigeria.

The IMS certification consolidates various management systems into a single, comprehensive, and harmonized framework, enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and employee motivation while improving document management and internal and external communication.

At the presentation ceremony held at the company’s corporate headquarters, Mrs. Folake Soetan, Managing Director and CEO of Ikeja Electric, expressed delight at the recertification, highlighting its significance in reinforcing the company’s dedication to environmental sustainability, safety, stakeholder well-being, and customer satisfaction. Mrs. Soetan emphasized Ikeja Electric’s steadfast commitment to upholding the highest standards in all aspects of its operations.

Engr. Jamiu Badmos, Head of Quality, Health, Safety & Environment, noted the historic achievement of securing three distinctive certifications simultaneously: ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems. He highlighted the milestone as a reflection of Ikeja Electric’s pursuit of technological advancement and environmental responsibility.

Furthermore, Jamiu underscored the company’s commitment to achieving a zero-fatality mandate, stressing the imperative of ensuring the safety of both staff and third parties.

During the certificate presentation, Deputy Lead Auditor, Mrs. Oyenike Shobowale of Bluestar Management Systems Pvt. Ltd, commended Ikeja Electric for its outstanding accomplishment, positioning the company as a global brand and setting a new standard in the energy sector. She emphasized the importance of continuous system review and improvement.
