In the midst of ongoing criticism over the distribution of palliatives in Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), resident Taiwo Adefeyisan has called upon the administration led by Princess Samiat Bada to ensure that aid reaches the doorsteps of the most vulnerable members of the community.
Adefeyisan voiced her concerns to Kosofe Post, particularly regarding the recent invitation for beneficiaries to collect palliatives at the Ikosi Isheri LCDA Council Secretariat. She argued that the hardships faced by beneficiaries make it impractical for them to travel to the council for assistance.
Citing alleged favoritism in the distribution process, Adefeyisan claimed that the items distributed by the council predominantly benefit loyalists of the council Chairman, leaving many in the community still struggling.
Expressing disappointment in the council’s approach, Adefeyisan questioned why the community’s most vulnerable are not being identified and assisted directly. She emphasized the importance of community leaders knowing the underprivileged individuals and suggested that the council should visit the doorsteps of those in need to ensure fairness in distribution.
Adefeyisan’s advocacy for a more targeted and equitable distribution approach stems from her own background of community service. As the daughter of the late ward A Chairman, Hon. James Adeboye Adefeyisan, she is familiar with the importance of helping those in need without seeking recognition.
