Ambassador Moyosore Ajayi joined residents of Kosofe and Shomolu to appeal to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu to construct an overhead bridge at Gbagada, citing urgent concerns for road safety in the area.

The call for aggressive critical life-saving measures was sparked by a tragic incident on Saturday night when a road user was fatally knocked down on the Oworonshoki-Apapa Expressway in the Kosofe area. Ambassador Moyosore Ajayi took to his social media handle @MJAY_VII to voice the community’s plea, stating, “A car just hit an Aboki man at Gbagada express opposite Harvesters, and the guy died instantly. How long would it take govt to do an overhead bridge for us at Gbagada.”

According to findings by Kosofe Post, apart from the urgent call for the construction of a pedestrian bridge to curb the alarming rate of accidents, residents also emphasized the need for attitudinal change. Many pedestrians often neglect to use the existing overhead bridge, putting their lives at risk and contributing to the frequency of accidents on the highway.
