Renowned live band performer Segun Johnson, celebrated for his captivating performances in the Nigerian music scene, has taken a stand against the abuse of the national currency, the Naira.

During a recent electrifying live performance, Johnson seized the opportunity to address guests at a function, where he shared his concerns about the rampant abuse of Naira notes during his performances. Dignitaries often express their appreciation for his talent by showering him with wads of Naira notes, inadvertently leading to the abuse of the currency.

Johnson advised guests to refrain from stepping on Naira notes, tossing money into the air, or throwing money aggressively like stones. Instead, he encouraged them to respect the currency and avoid actions that could lead to its mutilation or disrespect.

In addition to his message against Naira abuse, Johnson showcased the trending Pluto dance, Shalipopi, during his performance. This dance, characterized by synchronized movements between two individuals, brought joy and lightness to the hearts of the guests.

The necessity of Johnson’s advice comes in the wake of recent events, including the arrest and prosecution of controversial celebrity cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, for currency mutilation and abuse of the Naira. Bobrisky’s actions, including spraying Naira notes at a function where Segun Johnson performed, underscore the urgency of raising awareness about the importance of respecting the national currency.
