A 16-year-old child was raped while she was 7 years old by a neighbor in Sagamu, Ogun State.
She narrated her ordeal, saying that the perpetrator had canal knowledge of her three times and instilled fear of death, threatening to kill her if she dare told anyone.
The development made the child traumatized all this time, until she recently came out of the situation and had the courage to open up. She was referred to the CPN office for counseling at Gbagada General Hospital, Kosofe.
She then went to the Mirabel Center for a medical examination. The case later occurred at the Sagamu Police Station for further investigation and prosecution.
Following the alarming rate of child abuse, parents are urged to maintain a close relationship with their children and embrace ” zero tolerance for child abuse.”
