In a heated exchange, Hon Kafilat Ogbara, representing Kosofe Federal Constituency of Lagos, and Talban Zurun Zazzau, an aide, have confronted Samiat Bada, the current Chairman of Ikosi Isheri LCDA, regarding the whereabouts of funds allocated for the 2023 elections.

The confrontation arose during inquiries into the utilization of a purported 100 million presidential palliative meant for Kosofe residents. Talban Zurun Zazzau redirected the focus, demanding clarification on how the LCDA Chairman distributed state and federal government funds during the 2023 elections.

Responding to the allegations, an aide to Samiat Bada, Omokejimi, cautioned Talban against meddling in affairs beyond his capacity, retorting that he should refrain from biting off more than he can chew. Omokejimi defended the LCDA Chairman, asserting that any inquiries about missing funds should be directed elsewhere, hinting at a rift between the federal constituency and the local council.

The strained relationship reportedly stems from KosofePost’s claims that following the 2023 general elections, tension escalated among local council chairpersons due to allegations of misconduct by Samiat Bada. Omokejimi vehemently defended Bada, insisting that all election funds were appropriately disbursed to party members under the scrutiny of party officials.

However, the call for accountability persists, with Oloye Salami raising concerns over the missing presidential palliatives. Despite the attempts to deflect, pressure mounts on both sides to address the unresolved financial discrepancies, underscoring the deepening rift within the Ikosi Isheri LCDA.
