Mr. Owolabi Taiwo’s popularity and political strength will be put to the test in the Kosofe Federal Constituency race.

He was a one-term councilor in Ikosi Isheri Lcda and contested the council chairmanship seat in 2017 under the platform of Accord with the late candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Engr. Abdulfatai Oyesanya.

In the keenly contested election, the former council chairman was declared the winner.

Owolabi, who many believed won the election, was dissatisfied with the outcome of the election and challenged the results at the Local Government Election Petition Tribunal.

However, the tribunal upheld the election of Oyesanya.

He relocated to the United States of America shortly after his unsuccessful attempts to retrieve his widely stolen mandate.

With his recent posters that flooded Ketu axis of Kosofe Federal, he has dumped the accord party for the All Progressives Congress and he’s equally set to slug the Federal Constituency seat race with the likes of the incumbent lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Honourable Rotimi Agunsoye, former two-termer member of the House, Dayo Alebiosu, Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Yetunde Arobieke and Kafilat Ogbara.

Others include Abiodun Owokoya, Femi Williams, Debo Adeniyi, and Olatunbosun Atobatele, among others.

Recall that in 2014, during the first term of Oyesanya’s, the IKosi Isheri Legislative chamber under the leadership of Owolabi accused the Council’s Chairman of embezzlement and nepotism, which led to the mpeachment saga that rocked the council.
