Arisekola Mourns the Passing of Sarkin Sasa

Mogaji Wole Arisekola has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin Katsina, the Sarkin Sasa Sardaunan Yamma, describing his death as the end of an era for Nigeria.

In a heartfelt tribute, Arisekola eulogized the late Sarkin Sasa as an exceptional leader, a father figure, and a statesman dedicated to fostering unity, peace, and patriotism. He highlighted the late traditional ruler’s wisdom, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people.

As Chairman of the Council of Arewa Traditional Rulers in the 17 Southern States, Sarkin Sasa played a crucial role in ensuring peaceful coexistence among different ethnic and religious groups. His leadership, Arisekola noted, was built on diplomacy, fairness, and a relentless pursuit of justice.

“He was a bridge-builder, a man of peace whose words carried great wisdom. His contributions to national unity cannot be forgotten,” Arisekola stated.

Beyond his domain, the late leader was actively engaged in national discussions on peace and stability, earning admiration from traditional rulers, political figures, and religious leaders across Nigeria.

Arisekola lamented that his passing comes at a time when Nigeria needs more leaders like him—leaders who prioritize peace, inclusivity, and development. However, he found solace in the legacy of service and unity that the late Sarkin Sasa left behind.

Offering his condolences to the bereaved family, the Council of Arewa Traditional Rulers, and the Arewa community, Arisekola urged them to uphold the values the late leader tirelessly promoted. He prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and expressed hope that his successor would carry on his noble work.
