APC Clears Majority of Councillorship Aspirants in Kosofe, Agboyi-Ketu, and Ikosi-Isheri Ahead of 2025 LG Polls

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the official screening results for councillorship aspirants in preparation for the 2025 local government elections, with the majority of candidates from Kosofe, Agboyi-Ketu, and Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) successfully scaling through.

In Kosofe LCDA, all 18 aspirants screened across Wards A to G were cleared, with screening scores ranging from 60% to 95%. Among the top performers were Adekoya Moses Oladimeji and Adebari Ibrahim Olalekan, both of whom scored 95%.

Ward A recorded four cleared aspirants, including the only female contender, Kudiye Christiana, who scored an impressive 90%. In Ward C, five aspirants were successfully screened, with results spanning from 60% to 95%.

The screening exercise, which party leaders described as transparent and merit-based, was overseen by a panel chaired by Hon. Babatunde Ogala (SAN, OFR), with Nurudeen Bamidele serving as secretary.

APC officials expressed confidence in the calibre of candidates cleared, stating that they are well-positioned to drive grassroots mobilization and boost the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections.

The party has scheduled its councillorship primaries to take place later this month across the LCDAs.
