As Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), prepares to end his second term on July 25, commendations continue to pour in from across Lagos State. Leaders, stakeholders, and community voices have lauded his transformational leadership and deep-rooted commitment to grassroots development.

Over the past eight years, Oshinowo has steered Agboyi-Ketu through a period of visible progress, earning widespread admiration for prioritizing infrastructure, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.

“A Builder of Men, Not Just Roads”

Tobi Oladepo, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Special Duties, described Oshinowo as a visionary leader whose impact goes beyond physical structures.

“He deserves every praise he gets. He is not just a builder of houses and good roads, but a builder of men,” Oladepo said. “Mayor Oshinowo has done great things that many may not even know about. Well done, MDO. I wish you the very best.”

A Benchmark of Grassroots Excellence

Omoba Awofeso Rasheed Ololade, a well-known grassroots voice, praised the chairman’s achievements and urged continuity.

“Mayor Oshinowo performed exceedingly well in office. I hope his successor, Hon. Adetola Abubakar Oyedele, will continue at an even higher tempo so constituents can keep enjoying the dividends of democracy,” he said.

Legacy Etched in Gold

Comrade Amos Ojajuni highlighted Oshinowo’s impact in infrastructure and governance.

“He catapulted the LCDA to national prominence. His leadership style and initiatives have become a benchmark for others across the country,” Ojajuni said.

Oloye Salami Oluwaseun echoed these sentiments, commending Oshinowo’s servant leadership and people-centered programs like WELIFT.

“He’s a great thinker and a valuable asset to both the community and the nation. His legacy will continue to inspire,” Salami remarked.

A Tireless, Responsive Leader

Comrade Funmilayo Joseph, Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, offered a personal tribute.

“He’s the first workaholic I’ve ever worked with. Whether it’s day or night, he is always working and responds promptly. Thank you, Mayor Oshinowo, for everything you’ve done for humanity and the people of Agboyi-Ketu.”

Joseph also expressed optimism about the incoming chairman, Hon. Adetola Oyedele Abubakar (also known as Tola Adunni), stating her belief that “she will do exceedingly well and sustain the legacy.”

As the curtain draws on his administration, Mayor Dele Oshinowo leaves behind more than just completed projects—he leaves a legacy of responsive governance, visionary leadership, and a strengthened local institution. The bar is set high as Agboyi-Ketu welcomes a new chapter under Chairman-elect Hon. Adetola Oyedele Abubakar.
