The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has commenced the enumeration of property owners affected by the ongoing demolition exercise in Oworonshoki for compensation purposes.

Information obtained by KosofePost over the weekend indicates that the one-week face-to-face verification exercise begins today, Monday, October 6, 2025, covering owners of demolished buildings as well as those whose properties have been marked for demolition.

The verification aims to compile accurate data and documentation necessary for the disbursement of compensation to eligible property owners.

A source close to the process disclosed that, barring any unforeseen delays, the payment of compensation is expected to begin next week after the verification exercise is concluded.

The Lagos State Government has maintained that the ongoing demolition campaign—targeting structures built on drainage channels and other unauthorized areas—is part of its broader effort to enforce urban planning regulations. The government also reiterated its commitment to ensuring fair compensation for verified and eligible residents.
