Bada Criticises Ogbara over TV Remarks

By Bilesanmi Abayomi

Tension is rising within the Kosofe political landscape following a public confrontation between the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Samiat Bada, and the Member representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara.

Princess Bada took to Hon. Ogbara’s Instagram comment section on Wednesday to express strong disapproval of remarks the lawmaker made during her appearance on the “Your View” television programme aired on TVC.

Reacting to Ogbara’s statement that she “can’t build schools where there are already ten” and “can’t build hospitals in Kosofe because there’s a 500-bed hospital,” the council boss described the comment as “disconnected from reality.”

In her words, Bada queried:

“How on earth will a sane person condemn the building of the largest Primary Health Centre in Nigeria delivered by a local government chairman?”

She further accused the federal lawmaker of engaging in what she termed “publicity stunts disguised as empowerment,” referencing alleged projects such as “2kg gas refills” and “₦5,000 okrika school bags,” which she dismissed as “an insult” to the people of Kosofe.

Bada drew a comparison with Hon. Fuad Laguda of Surulere I Federal Constituency, commending him for “building roads, commissioning projects, empowering small businesses, and supporting local security,” which she described as “genuine service.”

As of press time, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara had yet to respond publicly to the LCDA Chairman’s criticism. The exchange, however, has fueled discussions about performance, representation, and political rivalry within the Kosofe axis of Lagos politics.
