Abayomi Bilesanmi Launches Free 1,000-Website Digital Empowerment Initiative for Nigerian Media
The Founder and Publisher of KosofePost, Hon. Abayomi Bilesanmi, has unveiled a major digital empowerment initiative aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s media and content creation ecosystem.
Bilesanmi, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Bilscom Technology Ltd and is popularly known as “KOKO,” announced the initiative while celebrating his birthday on December 18 at TOPS Buffet Restaurant, Manchester, United Kingdom.

Under the programme, 1,000 professional websites will be sponsored and deployed at no cost to selected journalists, bloggers, non-governmental organisations, and community-based groups across Nigeria. The initiative is designed to enhance professionalism, visibility, and long-term sustainability within the media and civic information space.

Focus on Sustainable Empowerment
Speaking at the event, Bilesanmi explained that the project prioritises long-term capacity building over short-term assistance.
“I believe in sustainable empowerment where beneficiaries can become truly independent,” he said. “Unlike palliatives or giveaways that encourage dependency, this programme provides tools that support long-term careers and financial stability.”
Each beneficiary will receive a comprehensive digital package valued at several million naira, including:
A free paid domain name and hosting for one year
Full website setup with customised professional email addresses
One year of free website maintenance and technical support
Building on Previous Digital Interventions
The initiative builds on Bilesanmi’s earlier contributions to digital development. In 2018, through Bilscom Technology Ltd, he facilitated the creation of nearly 80 free websites for Nigerians. The new programme significantly scales up that effort, with targeted focus on:
Practicing journalists and bloggers
Faith-based and community-based organisations
NGOs actively engaged in publishing news and press releases
Eligibility and Application Process
To ensure sustainability and active use of the platforms, KosofePost outlined clear eligibility criteria for applicants. Interested beneficiaries must:
Commit to publishing content daily for at least five weeks after launch
Submit a 250–350 word statement explaining their suitability and sustainability plan
Provide links to five previously published articles
Applications are to be submitted via email to News@kosofepost.com or through WhatsApp on 08051647026.
The initiative has been widely described as a timely and strategic intervention to boost digital capacity, credibility, and economic independence within Nigeria’s rapidly evolving media landscape.
