Reports indicate that the Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, has allegedly sworn in some members of the Executive Committee (EXCO) recently screened by the Kosofe Legislative Council.
SEE: Ogunlewe swears in the council cabinet members
According to sources within the council, nine of the 17 EXCO nominees approved by the Lagos State Government and screened by the legislative arm were sworn in at the chairman’s office.
The development has raised questions, as the full outcome of the screening exercise remains unclear. Efforts by KosofePost to obtain official clarification from the Leader of the Council, Clr. Femi Oyesile, were unsuccessful; calls and enquiries placed to him were reportedly declined.
In a formal enquiry to the council leadership, KosofePost requested information on:
The total number of nominees screened
How many, if any, were rejected
When the confirmed nominees would be forwarded for oath administration
As of 4:30 PM on the day of publication, no official response had been received.
Observers are awaiting further updates as the situation develops, with attention on whether the alleged swearing-in aligns with the proper legislative process.
