A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kosofe, Mrs. Dairo, has disclosed that the Lagos East APC Governors Advisory Council (GAC) leader, Bushira Alebiosu, has given party stakeholders approval to engage with House of Representatives aspirant, Dele Oshinowo, over his 2027 ambition.
Dairo made the disclosure during a consultation tour held at the Kosofe constituency office of former two-term House of Representatives member and current Commissioner for Waterfront and Infrastructure Development, Ekundayo Alebiosu.
According to her, the directive from the senior Alebiosu signals that party members are encouraged to meet with Oshinowo and support his bid to represent Kosofe Federal Constituency.
She highlighted Oshinowo’s tenure as chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), describing his administration as inclusive and people-oriented. Dairo expressed confidence that he would replicate similar governance at the federal level if elected.
“Our mandate here is from our leader, Otunba Bushira Alebiosu, to support you. When elected, do not forget the leaders who stood by you,” she said. “As you united leaders in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, you should also unite leaders across the three divisions of Kosofe Federal Constituency and remain accessible, unlike the current representation.”
Her remarks come amid increasing political activity within the APC in Kosofe, as stakeholders begin to align ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Political observers say the development reflects growing momentum around Oshinowo’s candidacy, with some party members describing him as a unifying figure capable of bridging divides among party leaders, civil society groups, and other interest blocs within the constituency.
As consultations continue, the emerging alignments within the APC are expected to play a decisive role in shaping the party’s candidate for the Kosofe Federal Constituency seat.
