The political atmosphere in Kosofe Federal Constituency remains tense following the emergence of Mayor Dele Oshinowo as the reported flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
While the Lagos State APC leadership, led by Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, has affirmed the outcome of the party’s primary process, the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, has yet to publicly congratulate Oshinowo.
Party sources indicate that Ogbara is awaiting a final determination from the APC National Working Committee (NWC), which is expected to review and formally conclude the party’s nomination process at the national level.
The Lagos State APC leadership has already communicated its position on the outcome of the primaries, with the list of successful candidates also reportedly published in national media outlets.
Meanwhile, several key political stakeholders in the constituency have begun aligning with the emerging candidate. Among those who have publicly congratulated Oshinowo are former Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Yetunde Arobieke, Mrs. Remi Odunsi, and Hon. Aina Olayinka Abigeal.
Other party leaders and local government stakeholders are also reported to have expressed support for the APC candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The unfolding development reflects a broader internal adjustment within the party following the conclusion of its primary elections, as aspirants and supporters realign ahead of the next electoral cycle.
As the APC leadership structure awaits final confirmation from the National Working Committee, political actors in Kosofe continue to watch closely how the situation will be resolved.
Further updates are expected as the party completes its internal post-primary processes.
