With less than five months to the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Kosofe Constituency 1, Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon, appears to be gaining momentum, with his campaign activities and public profile increasingly attracting attention across the constituency.
Okanlawon’s visibility on the campaign trail has remained notable in recent weeks, with supporters pointing to his record, political experience and legislative achievements as reasons for their continued support.
Although the APC candidate recently took time to focus on his health and personal well-being, his subsequent public appearances have reassured supporters that he remains active and engaged ahead of the election.
His political activities and record have also continued to generate organic conversations on social media, with constituents and supporters independently sharing content highlighting his achievements and public engagements.
Rivals Yet to Match Campaign Visibility
While Okanlawon has maintained a visible presence, some of his opponents have yet to establish comparable campaign structures or public communication strategies.

The relatively low visibility of rival candidates has left some voters with limited information about their programmes, records and policy priorities ahead of the election.
Political observers say the coming weeks will therefore be crucial, as opposition candidates will need to demonstrate their capacity to mount sustained campaigns, articulate clear alternatives and connect directly with voters.
Beyond campaign visibility, analysts say voters will ultimately assess candidates based on their records, programmes, credibility and ability to represent the interests of the constituency.
APC Seeks to Consolidate Advantage
For the APC, Okanlawon’s growing visibility provides an opportunity to consolidate its support base across Kosofe Constituency 1 ahead of the 2027 poll.
The candidate’s grassroots engagements are expected to intensify as the election approaches, with the campaign likely to focus on mobilising supporters, communicating his legislative record and presenting his vision for the constituency.
With the electoral contest still months away, however, the political landscape remains open to change. Rival candidates and parties have ample time to strengthen their structures and present competing narratives to voters.
For now, Okanlawon’s campaign appears to have gained an early advantage in visibility and organisation, but whether that momentum translates into electoral victory will ultimately be determined by voters at the polls.
