Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, the lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has announced plans to organise a second major empowerment programme tagged “Kosofe Mega Empowerment 2.0.”
Ogbara made the announcement on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, through her official social media platforms.
The brief announcement did not provide details on the date, venue, beneficiaries or modalities for the programme. Further information on registration and logistics is expected to be released later.
The proposed empowerment initiative comes less than 10 months before the end of Ogbara’s current tenure in the National Assembly and following her unsuccessful bid to secure the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Ogbara lost the APC primary to Hon. Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the Former Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, who emerged as the party’s candidate for the constituency.
The lawmaker’s previous empowerment programme attracted mixed reactions across the constituency. While some beneficiaries received high-value items, some supporters of Kosofe Local Government Chairman, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, criticised the distribution of smaller items, including hair clippers and chest freezers.
The reactions reflected differing views among political supporters over the distribution and scope of the earlier exercise.
Details of the new Kosofe Mega Empowerment 2.0, including its beneficiaries, registration process and distribution arrangements, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
