The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency, Abdulwaheed Omotayo Odunuga, has vowed not to step down for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Kafilat Ogbara, with barely 25 days until the National Assembly Election.

Abdulwaheed made the declaration when he was contacted by the Kosofe Post over the rumors going around that he had stepped down as the APC candidate on Monday.

He described the rumors as untrue and falsely designed to confuse and create dissatisfaction among his teeming supporters ahead of the liberation poll.

He said, “That’s not true, and it’s false. And I can assure you—I’m assuming all my supporters know that, by the grace of God, I will not step down for any candidate. no matter the conditions. We are going into this election to win it. We are very optimistic that we will win this election.

“And how can a candidate who is willing to win the election step down for an unpopular candidate?” he queried.

“The people of Kosofe are wiser this time around. They’re voting as individuals, not as parties. And we believe we’ve done a lot for our people to deserve their votes, not somebody we always see during the election period. So we are assuring our people that no matter the intimidation, no matter the threats, no matter the destruction of our campaign materials, we are winning the election, he said.

He beseeched his supporters to remain focused and abstain from any form of political violence. They should desist from anything, no matter the instigation; they should desist from anything violent.

“So we are very optimistic, saying, We are not stepping down for anybody. We are not stepping down for Kafilat.

“We are not stepping down for any candidate, no matter who that person is, because we believe we are more credible and popular than all the candidates,” Abdulwaheed Omotayo Odunuga said.
