LGNA International, formerly known as Local Government News Academy, has rebranded its logo and adopted a new name—’Learning Gives New Ability’ (LGNA) International with the aim of enhancing international engagements with public officers across Nigeria. The unveiling took place during the 14th Year Anniversary celebration, which included lectures, awards, carol night, and dinner at Radisson Blu in Victoria Island, Lagos, on Sunday.

CEO Mr. Tunde Jakande emphasized that the rebranding signifies a strategic shift towards building capacity, fostering professionalism, and enhancing efficiency in the public service. The new name and logo, he explained, position LGNA International to reach out to federal officers in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) across the country.

“The significance of this ceremony is celebrating the existence of LGNA, standing stronger and evolving. Today’s event unveils the new name and logo focused on international engagement, expanding our reach to federal level MDAs,” said Jakande.
LGNA International, initially established as LG News Academy to promote good governance and excellence in public administration, now aims to broaden its impact by exposing public officers to positive practices from various countries.
Jakande highlighted past achievements, including bringing the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) to Lagos and gaining recognition from federal organizations like the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Police, and Nigeria Railway Corporation. He expressed pride in the company’s growth and announced upcoming initiatives, such as a national summit for the 774 local governments in the country and a summit for six ECOWAS countries.
The event featured carol songs by the Lagos State Fire Service and the Nigeria Railway Corporation, along with leadership awards presented to notable individuals, including Mr. Ben Iloanusi and Dr. Monsurat Olaitan from the Nigeria Railway Corporation, and Mrs. Margaret Adeseye from the Lagos State Fire Service, among others.
As LGNA International continues its journey, CEO Mr. Tunde Jakande remains optimistic, citing the joy derived from successfully building a brand capable of standing on the global stage.
