The Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA) administration, led by Princess Samiat Bada, has made a swift U-turn, stating that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu should take full credit for the 90th birthday car gift presented to Alhaji Ademola Salami, the Apex Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the LCDA. This comes after controversy surrounding an earlier claim suggesting that the Mayoress, Princess Bada, facilitated the gift.

In a congratulatory message issued on October 15, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA described the car gift as a result of the respectful relationship between Princess Bada and the 90-year-old political icon, which allegedly inspired Governor Sanwo-Olu’s gesture. The statement implied Bada’s involvement, sparking backlash from supporters of Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, the lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, who criticized the Mayoress for allegedly taking credit for the car gift.

However, in a press release issued on Thursday titled “Clarification on Viral Video Featuring Alhaji Ademola Salami,” the Ikosi-Isheri LCDA media team firmly denied the claims circulating on social media. The statement emphasized that the vehicle was a goodwill gesture from Governor Sanwo-Olu alone, debunking rumors of any other individual or entity’s involvement.

“No individual or entity other than the Governor himself should take credit for this thoughtful gift. The governor’s leadership and generosity are unparalleled, and no one should attempt to claim the glory that rightfully belongs to him,” the statement clarified.
