Political leaders and community stakeholders across Lagos State have paid glowing tributes to Otunba Bushura Adedeji Alebiosu, a revered elder statesman and member of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), as he marks his 89th birthday.

Fondly called the “Bush of Africa,” Otunba Alebiosu was lauded for his decades of unwavering commitment to public service, political mentorship, and grassroots leadership, particularly within Lagos East Senatorial District and Kosofe Local Government Area.

In a goodwill message, Dr. Babatunde Osinowo, Managing Director of NIMCO Group, praised the nonagenarian’s dedication to democratic ideals and community advancement. “Your continued service and commitment to the people of Lagos East and beyond have made a lasting impact,” he said.

Also extolling Alebiosu’s legacy, Hon. Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, Executive Chairman of Kosofe LGA, highlighted Alebiosu’s pivotal role in promoting the ideals of the APC and fostering community development in Kosofe. Similarly, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, described him as her “Daddy and mentor,” applauding his quiet strength and enduring influence on Lagos politics.

Tributes also came from Hon. Abayomi Elugbindin, who called Alebiosu “a political pillar and symbol of hope,” while Hon. Joseph Opabola, an Agboyi-Ketu LCDA chairmanship aspirant, commended his deep cultural ties and public service. Hon. Adebajo Abiodun Adetunji (Dudu), a chairmanship aspirant in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, referred to him as “a gladiator, charismatic leader, and bridge builder,” and prayed for continued strength and good health.

Otunba Alebiosu, a former lawmaker in Nigeria’s Second Republic and current Chairman of the Council of Otunbas in Ijebuland, has played a significant role in shaping governance and political discourse in Lagos over the last four decades.

As he celebrates his 89th birthday, tributes continue to pour in from across political divides, recognizing a life marked by service, legacy, and leadership.
