In a remarkable gesture that has drawn attention across Lagos political and media circles, leading digital media platform KosofePost has publicly commended Labour Party candidate for Ifako-Gbagada Ward C, Ambassador Moyosore Badejo, popularly known as MoG (Moyosore of Gbagada), and refunded over ₦100,000 paid for campaign publicity.

According to KosofePost publisher, Bilesanmi Abayomi Koko, the candidate had reached out earlier in 2024 to request paid media services for political branding and campaign awareness—an unusual move in a landscape where political actors often expect free coverage.

“Unlike many politicians who demand media coverage without goodwill or appreciation, MoG stood out,” Koko said. “He paid for every campaign content with humility and respect. That integrity deserves recognition.”

As a result, KosofePost decided to return the full amount paid as a token of appreciation for the candidate’s ethical conduct and commitment to clean, issue-based politics.

“MoG’s campaign has been people-driven, professionally executed, and free of mudslinging. He has earned our respect,” the media house added.

In the same statement, KosofePost also issued a call to Community Development Associations (CDAs) within the Kosofe area, urging them to refrain from blocking candidates from engaging residents.

“Democracy thrives on free expression and access. Let all candidates speak. Don’t silence voices seeking to serve,” the statement read.

As the July 12 local government elections approach, KosofePost encouraged residents of Ifako-Gbagada to come out in large numbers and vote for the candidate of their choice, without fear or intimidation.

The outlet also appealed to the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) and security agencies to uphold electoral integrity by ensuring a peaceful, free, and credible poll.
