Labour Party Councillorship candidate for Ward C, Araromi Ifako-Soluyi in Gbagada, Kosofe LGA, Ambassador Moyosore Badejo, cast his vote on Saturday in the ongoing Lagos State Local Government elections. Shortly after voting, Badejo raised concerns over what he described as the poor preparedness of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).

Speaking to journalists, Badejo expressed frustration over delays in the distribution of election materials, particularly accreditation tags for polling agents.

“So far, it has been a bad outing from LASIEC. We had four years to plan this election, but materials and agent tags were only released a day before the election, leading to serious logistical challenges. LASIEC has one job, to conduct elections, and it’s disappointing to see such poor coordination,” he said.

Badejo also alleged that vote buying by the ruling party was taking place at some polling units, stating that he had video evidence to support his claim.

Despite the challenges, the Labour Party candidate urged voters to support credible candidates who are committed to service and grassroots development.

“The people deserve leaders who are accessible and accountable. If this election is conducted freely and fairly, I’m confident of victory. The incumbent has failed to deliver, and the people deserve better,” Badejo asserted.

He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and community engagement, pledging to be “accessible, reliable, and accountable” if elected.

“I am a man of integrity and I will amplify the voice of the people. Councillors must stay close to the grassroots, you can’t serve a people you’re disconnected from,” he concluded.

Voting continues across Kosofe and other parts of Lagos under close observation.
