As his eight-year tenure draws to a close, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Mayor Dele Oshinowo, has formally extended his appreciation to residents of the council, especially youth leaders and community influencers, for their unwavering support and cooperation during his administration.

The farewell event, held in the council area, was highlighted in a press statement by Hon. Adebisi Adeniyi, Special Adviser on Community Development Association Affairs.

Describing the day as “another glorious moment” in the history of Agboyi-Ketu, Oshinowo expressed deep gratitude for the peaceful coexistence, solidarity, and communal harmony that defined his time in office, noting that these were the foundations on which his administration delivered numerous developmental projects.

He acknowledged several prominent community figures—including Olainukan, Australia, Baba Kako, Oye, Abija, Current, and Big Boss—praising them for the respect and collaboration extended to his administration. Oshinowo said their roles were pivotal in fostering grassroots development and inclusiveness across the LCDA.

Looking ahead, he called for continued unity and urged residents to extend the same level of loyalty and cooperation to the incoming administration led by the Chairman-elect, Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar.
“Support her as you have supported me. She is more than a colleague—she is my sister. The same father figure who guided me is now guiding her,” Oshinowo said, rallying support for a smooth transition.
A minute of silence was observed in honour of deceased community members, while guests enjoyed a celebratory atmosphere marked by food, drinks, and testimonies. Speakers lauded Oshinowo’s humility, responsiveness, and commitment to people-centred governance.
The event was widely regarded as a reflection of the mayor’s enduring impact and leadership style rooted in inclusivity and grassroots engagement.
As the July 25 handover date approaches, residents and political stakeholders continue to pay tribute to Oshinowo’s legacy, wishing him success in future endeavours.
“Mayor Dele Oshinowo is not just a politician; he is a builder of people and peace. His leadership will be remembered for generations,” the statement concluded.
