Reports reaching KosofePost indicate that a significant number of residents affected by the ongoing demolition in Oworonshoki have refused to participate in the Lagos State Government’s official enumeration process.

As of October, fewer than five victims were said to have collected the enumeration forms at the Oloworo Palace, despite repeated appeals by government officials and community leaders.

Several affected residents reportedly expressed distrust in the exercise, citing past experiences and fears that the process may not lead to adequate compensation or resettlement. Others maintained that they had already initiated legal action against the Lagos State Government, the Oloworo of Oloworo, and other parties involved in the demolition, and therefore saw no reason to engage in the enumeration.

Similarly, it was gathered that efforts by the Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation (MDOF) to provide relief materials and cash support were turned down by some victims who insisted on pursuing justice through the courts rather than accepting any form of palliative assistance.

The demolition, which has displaced several households in Oworonshoki, continues to generate mixed reactions among residents, community stakeholders, and humanitarian groups.
