A fierce war of words has erupted in the Kosofe Federal Constituency following the aftermath of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election, as Hon. Oluremi Oluwalogbon Odunsi, an APC aide and former aspirant, has pushed back strongly against a critical opinion piece questioning her grassroots presence.

Odunsi, who reportedly finished fourth in the primary, reacted to an article titled “Kosofe Constituency: The Curious Case of Remi Oluwalogbon’s ‘Seasonal’ Grassroots Presence” written by KosofeInsideOut publisher Lekan Lawal and shared by KosofePost. The piece questioned the consistency of her community engagement, a framing she described as unfair and politically motivated.

In a strongly worded response, Odunsi accused the platforms of abandoning journalistic balance.

“It is disappointing that a platform like KosofePost, which should serve as a beacon of truth, balanced reporting, and enlightenment for the people of Kosofe, appears to have reduced itself to a politically manipulated platform vulnerable to influence and biased narratives,” she said.

She argued that media platforms should uphold objectivity rather than become instruments for “selective attacks” or political propaganda.

Defending Her Grassroots Record

Rejecting the “seasonal” label, Odunsi maintained that her community engagement predates her political ambition, stressing that her work in humanitarian support, youth empowerment, and women-focused initiatives has been ongoing.

She described her entry into elective politics as a natural extension of long-standing service, insisting that leadership should not be treated as a “reserved inheritance.”

Odunsi also dismissed the criticism as “intellectually dishonest,” arguing that it sought to diminish her growing acceptance within the constituency.

Call for Issue-Based Politics

She urged political actors and media platforms to elevate public discourse beyond personal attacks, emphasizing the need for more substantive engagement on development priorities in Kosofe.

“This is 2026; technology is so advanced for people to gather truths and facts themselves… the evidence of my grassroots work is not hidden,” she stated.

Odunsi added that the electorate in Kosofe is politically aware enough to distinguish between “genuine leadership” and “politically motivated narratives.”

As of the time of filing this report, neither KosofePost nor KosofeInsideOut had issued an official response to her allegations.
