Local Government News Academy, LGNA, will be hosting the first Face of LGs in Lagos pageant ‘FLAGS’ as part of activities celebrating the Academy’s 12th year anniversary.

This aimed is to draw more attention to the third tier of government, its activities, functions and responsibilities.
The face of LGs in Lagos, pageant FLAGS, hopes to encourage the private sector and key international organizations to play greater roles in the development of communities.
One of the basic requirement of the winner of FLAGS is to have a specific development project, i.e. establishing borehole in identified communities.
The winner’s priority is to use her office to solicit good will and galvanize support in executing her pet projects during her reign.
The winner of the face of LGs in Lagos pageantwill automatically become an ambassador for development and the promotion of peace.
The winner is expected to pay courtesy visits to all the chief Executives of all local government council in Lagos, top government officials, leading private companies and international organizations bringing to their attention, the needs in specific communities.
The winner of FLAGS will also visit public schools to encourage pupils and motivate them to focus on their education and being responsible.
The winner of FLAGS will help drive scholarships and funding of exceptionally gifted youths.
The FLAGS Pageant
Contestants must be within the ages of 21 and 25
Must be Female
Contestants must come from a particular council area and forms must be endorsed by the council chairman or manager.
Contestants must be familiar with local government councils in Lagos and be interested in community development.
There will not be swimsuit segment at the competition, but Contestants must be good-looking, poise, elegant and well-spoken in English and Yoruba.
Every applicant must have a vision of what Lagos should or could be and be ready to work tirelessly in making a positive impact with her crown.
Application forms can be obtained at various Local Government councils in Lagos or at LGNA office.
Application form is ten thousand naira only. Only ten applicants will qualify for the finals holding on the 10th of December.
Screening and interview sessions will be conducted from the 11th of November by Universal Services Productions and others.
The FLAGS will expose winners to high level government and private individuals, and as such only the very disciplined are eligible.
Winner of the FLAGS will take home over a millionaire in cash and prizes.
The winner will also earn a monthly salary.
