Speaking on the occasion, Ogunlewe said the supervisors and special advisers were the privileged few to be chosen among the lots and that the hope of Kosofe residents depended on them.

“The assignment of the office of Executive Chairman is heavy and can only be effectively executed by the executive members who are taking the oath of office today.”

This enormous task is a collective responsibility, and I want you all to start immediately so that we can move the Council forward.

As Executive members, your duties are very demanding. You are the ears, hands, and eyes of the Council in addressing the important issues and challenges that face our local government.”

As you are all aware, we are now in April. We have before us many urgent challenges arising from the committed pursuit of our legacy projects, as well as the inevitable pressure of politics in the future. But we need not be derailed in our resolve to deliver the dividends of democracy to the good people of Kosofe Local Government, who stood by us.

It is, therefore, necessary that we face all these challenges with the support and expertise at our disposal and that of loyal citizens who also fully represent the aspirations and support of our citizens and major stakeholders throughout the 7 wards of our local government. These have partly informed our choices in selecting our new executive members being sworn in today.”

We have also been very intensive in selecting the list of men that we swear in today to ensure they meet our criteria of a gender-sensitive administration, experience, and a notable ability to perform under pressure.

The Chairman urged his cabinet members to serve with integrity, devotion, loyalty, and accountability.

He stressed that he expects that they will provide “fresh ideas and a new drive to support our government in consolidating our legacy projects, building a sustainable foundation for our projects, and moving the politics of Kosofe local government to the next level of humility, justice, and harmony as you serve our citizens,” he stressed.

The Secretary to the Local Government, Honourable Fatai Gbadebo, on behalf of the newly appointed cabinet members, thanked the council chairman, barrister Moyo Ogunlewe, and the party leadership for the confidence and implicit trust reposed in them for their appointment into various offices.

He assured the Executive Chairman that the cabinet members would be valuable to his administration and legislators in ensuring that the Chairman met his set goals and objectives as well as his election campaign promises.
