In an interview, Kosofe Post granted the leading People’s Democratic Party aspirant for Kosofe Constituency 1 House of Assembly Aspirant, Honourable Owoaje Babasola, who came second under the platform of a relative unknown political party, the Action Democratic Party, while a more popular PDP candidate, Aransi Rasheed Olamilekan Oladoja, who came third during the last local election, had his reasons behind his feet revealed.
Many people who reacted to the interview wondered how he could displace a major opposition party, the PDP, with a more visible structure and a more popular candidate.
Kosofe Post gathers that Owoaje, who the odd favoured to clinch the Kosofe Constituency 1 House of Assembly ticket, partnered with PDP stakeholders in the Ogudu “LASIEC Ward G” area of Kosofe Local during the 2021 local poll.
PDP members allegedly sacrificed the victory of the PDP candidate for the financial guru, Owoaje.
Those who worked for Owoaje to achieve the special feat gathered to facilitate his entrance into the umbrella party, PDP, recently.
Another source hinted that both the shortchanged PDP councillorship candidate and his traducers, Owoaje, have since reconciled their differences and are set to work together for unity and peace in the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Owoaje Babasola and his co-contestant, Debo Adesina, were screened and cleared to contest this weekend’s primary election of the party.
