“The office of the “Mogaji” (ie, the official head of a clan in the Ibadan cultural cum sociopolitical order); the esteemed title I’m noticing for the first time before my beloved Wole Arisekola’s name, is a position that validates your compassion for the weak, loyalty to friends and the familial instinct which defines how you relate with people around you (irrespective of their ancestry, tribe or race) once you’ve resolved to call them “bro-friend”.

In his words, “Baba”, as we’ve always called each other from our days of cohabitation in Ibadan-as new returnees from the UK-Ireland diasporas, nigh two decades ago, I’ll be glad to personally fund my own “Iwu’ye” (transliteration: investiture celebration) for your deserved “Mogajiship”. #OyeAmoriO”
