Ahead of the All Progressives Congress’s National Assembly primaries election on May 12, no fewer than seven candidates will vie for the Kosofe Federal Constituency seat on the party’s platform.
The incumbent lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency of Lagos, and House Committee Chairman on Sustainable Development Goals, Honourable Rotimi Agunsoye, is one of the contestants yet to make an official declaration. Perhaps, he was waiting for guidelines from the party like numerous incumbent lawmakers before heeding the calls of his supporters, who maintained that there was no vacancy in the constituency while urging him to return for a third term.

Yesterday, at Agboyi Ketu Lcda APC Secretariat, Kosofe, former two-term Member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Dayo Bush, whose supporters noted there’s a vacancy in Kosofe, declared his intention to speak for Kosofe again.
The Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Lagos State, Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke, last Friday, declared her intention when protesters stormed her Igboho residence, Alapere, to compel her to join the race.
The National Coordinator, Women in Nigeria for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (WIN4ABAT) and Lagos State Secretary, Southwest Agenda for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu (SWAGA’23), Alhaja Kafilat Ogbara, recently resigned her membership of the Lagos State Audit Board Commission in compliance with new electoral laws to join the contest.

The early starter is the President of Cheche Foundation and international saxophonist, Mr. Abiodun Owokoya, who launched his subtle campaign about a year ago. He officially declared it a few months ago during a fund-raising dinner held far away in the United States of America.
Other contestants include Debo Adeniyi and
Olatunbosun Ayan, aka Bigtubor, and who have equally seized social media to propagate their aspirations as monitored.
The outrageous 10 million naira non-refundable cost of expression of interest and nomination forms may force some contestants to withdraw from the race.
According to Kosofe Post findings, consensus arrangement or imposition of candidates may not work. However, the faith of who will be the party flagbearer will be determined by either indirect or direct primary elections.
