Education: Again, Ogunlewe distributes 300 GCE Forms to indigent students

The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos, Honourable Moyosore Ogunlewe In collaboration with the Sohcahtoa foundation, the council distributed 300 free GCE forms to indigent students across the council.

The distribution exercise was held on Thursday at the Council Headquarters, Ojota, Kosofe, Area of Lagos State.

The Kosofe Post (KP) reported that the council’s chairman distributed free 150 GCE forms, 1000 Jamb forms, and provided a quality tutorial for beneficiaries immediately after he assumed office in 2021.

Ogunlewe told our reporter that the kosofe education support initiative is central to the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration’s THEMES agenda.

“We decided to give free 150 GCE forms to indigent students within the local government. And also, the Sohcatoa foundation assisted us by giving us an additional 150 GC forms.”

He noted further that only about 120 students out of 150 that benefited from the 2021 edition’s performance were excellent.

He said the screening of the students was an open exercise across Kosofe.
The chairman appealed to the beneficiaries to read, study, and prepare for the examination.

He further urges them to aspire to higher education in order to position themselves for greater opportunity in the future.

He assured the students and their parents and guardians that his administration would not stop in its efforts to impact positively on the future of the young ones through his tenure.

Earlier, speaking at the program, co-founder of Sohcahtoa foundation, Mrs. Solape Fayemi, said the non-governmental organization’s mission is to provide food and excellent education to children and youth in poor communities in Africa.

She noted that the organization decided to complement the efforts of the young and dynamic local government chairman in its education initiative.

Oyetubo Joy, a beneficiary, thanked Moyosore Ogunlewe’s led administration for the education palliative amid economic hardship.

Present at the program were the Kosofe Local Government Vice Chairman, Hon. Oluwole Sosanya; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Fatai Gbadebo; cabinet members; and members of the Council Legislative led by Hon. Idowu Oluloro.
