The Founder and General Overseer of the Unity Church of Christ (UCC) Worldwide, Pastor Bamidele Alake, has urged Nigerians to position themselves for a thousand times more opportunity.

He made the admonition during an interview and a series of programs put together to celebrate the forthcoming 30th anniversary of the church, which was established on October 1st, 1992.

He said, “You just have to position yourself to a thousand times more if you really want God to bless you, and I told them to open to Deuteronomy 1 vs 11.

He said he had promised our forefathers that he was going to bless us with thousands more blessings, and it was clearly written there. So we don’t know, due to ignorance, we do not position ourselves to be blessed. For example, look at Abraham.

He was asked to leave his family and his home at the age of 75, and a lot of promises were made by God in Genesis 12 vs 1-4; it was written there. So a lot of things are happening. He left for where God promised. If you listened to my sermon, I said they should go and look at St. John 21, and see what happens.

“He actually instructed Peter to launch into the deep; he even gave him an appropriate place on the right side of the vessel. He promised to bless us thousands more times over, and he advised us to sell if the country was not good.

As the 2023 general election draws closer, he reiterated that prayer is the master key while urging Nigerians to fulfill their civil responsibility and keep praying.

“We should keep on praying so that God will assist us. It’s only prayer that can do it. God knows who he wants to use. We are praying that God will give us the right person to do it. Just like my sermon today, God sent Elijah to a widow, a widow who had nothing to eat, but God cannot send someone to where he will suffer. That’s why he sent Elijah to her. It’s the same thing with us. Don’t you see what is happening in Nigeria?

“Many of the nurses and doctors have relocated abroad, but do they pay enough here? No, but God has promised to bless us thousands of times more , so this is what we should always ask for.”

While speaking on the church’s journey so far, Pastor Bamidele laments the deplorable condition of the Akinpelu and Unity roads.

He said, “You know, Paul the Apostle even told us that whenever we face a lot of atrocities and envy, you can see our road, people are not cooperating. We are the ones doing it, and up till now you can see. If you pass through, you’ll see what’s going on. Had it been that they were cooperating, we must have even involved the government, so they would assist us on it.”
