Revealed No political office holders receiving unpaid salaries in Kosofe

Contrary to the reports that went viral last week, that Kosofe Local Government, under the administration of Barrister Moyo Ogunlewe, underpays its cabinet members. However, Kosofe Post can confirm that this is not the case.

The substantiated claims alleged that the council deducted N28,000 out of N328,000 in monthly take home pay of political appointees, particularly the supervisors.

According to KP findings, there are three categories of welfare packages for political office holders under the 20 local government and 37 local council development areas approved by the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs.

Ajeromi, Amuwo Odofin, Agege, Mushin , Somolu, Apapa, Mainland, Ojo, Ifako-Ijaye with a gross salary of N378, 666.82 after tax, net salary of N350,000.

Ibeju Leki, Oshodi Isolo, Ikeja, Kosofe, Eti-Osa, Lagos Island, Surulere with a gross salary of N328, 666.82 after tax, net salary of N300,000.

Category B includes Alimosho, Epe, and Ikordu Badagry, with a gross salary of N278.62 after tax, and a net salary of N250,000, respectively.

Some political appointees contacted Kosofe and Lagos State at large but declined comments as at press time.

The Kosofe Post earlier reported that the SLG to Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Fatai Gbadebo, described all the reports flying round as blatant lies in fruitless attempts to tarnish the image of the council chairman.
