Oba Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, the Olu Agboyi Kingdom in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA has conferred different chieftaincy titles to seven Nigerians in commemoration of his two years coronation on the throne.
Oladega made this known at the Day Seven of the Olu Agboyi’s Two-Year Coronation Anniversary Programme at his palace in Agboyi-Ketu, Lagos on Thursday.
The Monarch said Mrs Ganiyat Ibrahim was conferred with the title of Yeye Meto of Agboyi-Ketu Land, Mrs Sikirat Ilesanmi Disu was honoured with a title of Yeye Mesho of Agboyi Land while Mr Abraham’s Owolabi Oketola was honoured with Babaguwa of Agboyi Land.
The traditional ruler of the kingdom said Mr Tope Fadayi was conferred with Otun Aare of Agboyi Land, Mrs Afusat Awoyeni was honoured with Iya Laje of Agboyi Land while Mr Oladimeji Oladunjoye was honoured with Baale of Araromi.
Oladega, the Akinmasa 1, Arole Owoyele of the kingdom, urged them to see their honour as an opportunity to further promote the culture of the kingdom.
During the installation, the monarch explained that he honoured was in recognition of their contributions to the promotion of Yoruba cultural heritage.
The traditional rulet noted that the community, under his watch, has its eyes on those, who contribute positively to the growth of the area, in the spheres of human capital, socio and economic development.
He said; “Peace is key for the development of every community and until community leaders learn to promote peaceful relationship among their subjects Nigeria will not develop.’’
Commenting, one of the beneficiaries, Mrs Ibrahim who spoke to Kosofe Post shortly after the ceremony, thanked the monarch for considering them worthy for the chieftaincy title.
