Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Kosofe constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Lanre Carew has been praised for reaching out to the Anthony Village Joint CDAs ahead of the March 11 election.
Carew visited community development associations over the weekend to engage with residents and share his agenda.
During his address, the successful international businessman noted that he joined the race to contribute his quota to the development of the nation.
He also recounted his political experiences, stating that the political game requires discipline and training to gain power.
Mr. Anayo, who spoke on behalf of the Aladura Estate Chairman, commended Carew for being the only candidate that reached out to the joint CDA.
He assured him of his three household votes and promised to mobilize massively for him. Other participants separately pledged their votes and declared openly that they are not welcoming any candidates.
The Aladura Estate CDA stakeholders, who have embarked on several help projects without government intervention, lamented how former Kosofe Local government Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Sofola, neglected the community while in office. They urged Carew not to toe the path of promise and fail representatives when elected.
The stakeholders reiterated that they will vote for a personality, not a political party, and told the SDP candidate not to give them any money. They assured him of their willingness to support his campaign materially and financially.
The attendees included representatives of Aladura Estate CDA, Oseni Silvia Crescent Odunlami CDA, Ajao Estate CDA, Anthony Village CDA, Anibaloye CDA, and Garden Park Resident Associations, respectively.
The commendation of Carew’s outreach efforts by the community is a boost for his campaign ahead of the election. It also highlights the importance of engaging with residents and community leaders to understand their needs and earn their support.
