Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Sen. Adeleke Mamora, and former Senator, Sen. OluGbenga Ashafa, alongside other stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kosofe, recently gathered to galvanize support for Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term. The governorship poll is set to take place on March 18, 2023.
The meeting, which was co-hosted by Mamora and the present Federal Housing Authority (FHA) Managing Director, Sen. Olugbenga Ashafa, was attended by various party members, including House of Representatives representing Kosofe Federal constituency, Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye, and Valuejet Chairman, Hon. Adekunle Soname.
During the gathering, speakers recounted their experiences with opposition parties, primarily the Labour Party, during the last presidential election. The stakeholders also aimed to re-strategize for the forthcoming Governorship and House of Assembly elections, which were postponed from March 11, 2023, to March 18, 2023.
Ashafa appealed to party members to put aside their differences and work towards the total victory of the party in the upcoming elections. He also encouraged members to appeal to their neighborhoods to exercise their civic responsibilities and vote en-masse for the APC.
Soname praised Gov. Sanwoolu’s achievements in the past four years and urged party members to forget any grudges and carry out their duties diligently and relentlessly to prevent mistakes that occurred during the previous election.
Mamora emphasized that Lagos State is the heartbeat of Nigeria and urged party members to vote for all APC candidates for House of Assembly to sustain the synergy between the Executive and Legislators. He also promised the availability of logistics to party members to carry out their duties effectively, despite the current cash crunch in the nation.
The stakeholders meeting aimed to reinvigorate party members’ morale and support for Gov. Sanwoolu’s second term, as they prepare for the upcoming governorship poll.
