The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe, has urged all Muslim brothers and sisters across the state to offer special prayers during Ramadan for divine peace, healing, unity, and rapid socio-economic development in the land. In a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday, Ogunlewe expressed his best wishes to Muslims as they observe the holy month of Ramadan.

As Muslims around the world engage in the spiritual purification of Ramadan, Ogunlewe called on God Almighty to grant the prayers of the faithful during Ramadan. He prayed that God would reward them bountifully, heal their lands, grant them peace, unity, and rapid progress so that they could all live together in harmony in Kosofe and Lagos State as a whole.

“It gives me great pleasure to extend my greetings to you as we begin the observance of Ramadan, a month devoted to fasting, prayer, and alms-giving, honoring God (SWT) and the revelation of the Holy Qur’an,” Ogunlewe said in his statement.

“The fast that you undertake now is indeed a powerful sign of your commitment to faith and of your obedience to God(Swt). Your fast expresses our common hunger and thirst for a closer relationship with God(Swt) for faith and forgiveness for justice and peace.”

Ogunlewe concluded his statement by wishing all Muslim faithfuls a happy Ramadan Kareem and prayed that they would all witness many more of this season in the years to come.

The chairman’s call for peace, healing, and unity during Ramadan comes at a crucial time in Nigeria’s history as the country grapples with insecurity, economic challenges, and other social issues. Muslims across the state will take heed of his message and offer prayers for a better tomorrow during this holy month of Ramadan.
