Kosofe Celebrates Historic Swearing-in of Hon. Kafilat Ogbara as First Female Representative, Calls for Open-Door Policy

The residents of Kosofe Federal Constituency congratulated Hon. Kafilat Ogbara on her historic election as the first female member of the House of Representatives representing the constituency. As she took her oath of office as a member of the 10th National Assembly, the community expressed their support and shared their expectations for her tenure.

Messages of congratulations poured in from residents and community leaders, emphasizing the importance of an open-door policy and active engagement with constituents. Oloye Seun Salami, a prominent figure in the community, urged Hon. Ogbara to connect with her constituents through attending community events, hosting town hall meetings, and leveraging social media platforms to gather feedback and address concerns. By staying connected, Salami emphasized that the lawmaker would be better positioned to understand and address the needs and aspirations of the people of Kosofe Federal Constituency.

Salami further advised Hon. Ogbara to prioritize legislative responsibilities, work diligently, and foster collaboration with colleagues to advance meaningful legislation. He stressed the significance of being responsive and accessible to constituents, maintaining an open-door policy, promptly responding to messages, and establishing clear channels of communication. Salami also encouraged the lawmaker to consult with experts and stakeholders in relevant fields to gather diverse perspectives and make well-informed decisions, suggesting that engaging with subject-matter experts, researchers, and organizations would be instrumental in developing effective policies. Additionally, he urged Hon. Ogbara to engage in continuous learning by attending conferences, workshops, and seminars to stay updated on emerging trends, best practices, and innovative solutions.

Another resident, Abdulkareem Aramide, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Ogbara, highlighting her as a mentor and leader. Aramide expressed confidence that the people of Kosofe and Nigerians at large would come to appreciate her even more as time goes on, recognizing her exceptional qualities beyond what is known publicly. He offered prayers for increased wisdom, protection, guidance, and success, which would earn her greater respect within her constituency.

    And this is a reminder that your seat in the hallowed green chambers is a call to service; a call to duty. There are so many pressing issues affecting the Kosofe Federal Constituency that needs urgent attention. These include:
    a. The perennial flooding menace across the constituency
    b. The poor state of roads across the 3 LGA/LCDAs
    c. The lack of potable water for the constituents
    d. The increasing number of out-of-school children
    All of these and more will demand your urgent attention as you assume office.

    I pray the Almighty God will grant you the needed strength and wisdom to deliver quality and exemplary leadership to the good people of Kosofe, and that your time will be known for greatness and goodness by all.
